Hey guys and gals! A few weeks ago, me and some of my animation buddy's got together to draw at the zoo. It was my first visit to the Cameron Park Zoo (in Waco, TX) and I've gotta say it was a very pleasant zoo. Not too big and not too small with LOTS of shady spots throughout the whole place. I definitely recommend it if you're ever passing through and get the itch to draw some animals. The exhibits are great, you can get pretty close to the wildlife there and its great for drawing/sketching/photos/etc. The lion sketch I did from behind a glass, I was about 3 feet away from the sleeping lion with his back to me and then suddenly he woke up, turned and faced me like he was looking for a snack. So I tried to capture the intensity in his eyes before feeling very uncomfortable and slowly backing away. Enjoy the sketches and remember: LONG LIVE PENCIL & PAPER!
