Warm up Sketch: Highlander...

"Don't lose your head" just think of this: There once was a tv show in the 90's about an immortal who ran around with a sword cutting off the heads of other immortals on prime time television! You CANNOT pitch that today and get it on the air.  I'm fully aware of all the Highlander flaws, cheesiness, and ridiculous abuse of dry ice in every fight scene, but somebody must have been watching for the show to go on for 6 seasons! That's right 6 seasons! Where else would a teenage boy go to see heads being chopped off every week on tv?  I grew up watching lots of cheesy sci-fi and fantasy action shows and I loved every last one of them. So check your brain at the door, sit back and watch swords clang! and heads roll!  With "Princes of the Universe" by Queen playing in the background!
"There can be only one... may it be, Duncan MacLeod!"

Reckless Pencil Test Part 2

Hey there! Ok so here's the colored version.  Since Radek's home world is his safety net or sanctuary,
I wanted to convey those scenes with warmth and a kind of softness.  Therefore, I chose a limited and warm palette.  I'm happy with this test, SUCCESS!!

Reckless Pencil Test...

Hey guys and gals, thought I'd share the latest... I'm experimenting with finishing some scenes and moments in RECKLESS entirely in pencil in order to give it the softer and or emotional feel.
Recently I've been doing most of my finished rendering in ink over a loosely structured gesture drawing, but ink is a whole different monster... it can also be used for softer or more emotional scenes but, I figured I'd give my old pencils a shot and see what they can do... I'd like to see if I can color this without losing the integrity of the subtle pencil lines.... experimenting is fun!  Keep an eye out for the Color Test version NEXT...
